Material Beds
We build material beds to fit under any gantry style plasma machine, regardless of brand. We have three proven designs in the field at this time and can custom design a bed if one of our proven designs does not meet your need. All units are built to order to exact dimensions to fit your machine.

Standard Downdraft Material Bed
All units over 10’ long or 6’ wide feature a zoned intake system, with no more than 5’ of intake open at any one time. This makes the exhaust system more efficient and allows use of a smaller exhaust blower. Our zones are controlled electronically and operated pneumatically to open at the precise time and stay open up to a minute after the cutting has moved into the adjacent zone. There are no mechanical arms hanging out to be tripped by the gantry. Slat holders are installed for 3” slat spacing using short, easily replaced slats. Most operators install slats on 6” centers. All units are built on a W4x13 or larger main frame with 3/16” plate walls. The slag floor is slanted to the rear of the table and two large cleanout doors are provided.  All beds are designed to support full sheets of 2” plate. Heavier designs are available.

Standard Water Table Material Bed
Similar to our standard water table design used on most Victory unitized machines, but with all structural components concealed to provide a smooth exterior to fit nicely between gantry rails. The water levels are adjusted without pumps or moving parts. All small parts that fall through can be removed without “fishing” them out. Moving the water level from dry bottom to high water requires only 3 minutes, the same time from high to dry. Using a 3% Plasma Quench additive in the water eliminates rust, odor and bacteria. The additive does not affect paint adhesion. Slat holders are installed for 3” slat spacing, using short easily replaced slats. Most operators install slats on 6” centers. All units are built on a W4x13 or larger main frame with 3/16” plate tub walls and floors.  All beds are designed to support full sheets of 2” plate. Heavier designs are available.

Heavy Duty Water Table Material Beds with Slag Removal System
The units are built even heavier to withstand 24/7 operation and much easier to clean in that continuous production environment. The slats are pinned into slag trays. The slag trays are almost as long as the table is wide and about 6’ wide depending on the total length to the material bed. Each slag tray has lifting eyes on one end and pivot ears on the other. As the slag try fills, the eye end can be lifted with an overhead crane and pivoted to dump the loose slag into slag baskets inside and along one wall of the bed. One or two extra interchangeable slag trays are sold with the unit. After the slats are consumed and some slag has scabbed to the slag try, that tray is replaced with a new or rebuilt slag tray to stay in production while the old tray is cleaned and re-slatted off line. The slag baskets are built in manageable sections to be lifted out with an overhead crane and dumped as needed. All structural components are concealed providing a smooth exterior to fit nicely between gantry rails. We offer a three-stage electric water level control option, but the water levels are still adjusted without pumps. All small parts that fall through can be removed without “fishing” them out. All units are built on a W6x13 or larger main frame with 5/16” plate tub walls and floors. All beds are designed to support full sheets of 2” plate. Heavier designs are available.
